AM Carlos da Nobrega (Guto Nobrega) is Doctor (2009) by the Planetary Collegium (CAiiA-STAR), based at the School of Art and Media, University of Plymouth UK, where he developed research under Prof. orientation Roy Ascott for 4 years of full PhD scholarship by CAPES. His character transdisciplinary research in the fields of science, technology and nature investigates how the confluence of these fields (especially in recent decades) have informed the creation of new aesthetic experiences. This study brings as a result a practical-theoretical intervention in the field of art with a focus on interactive ideas, telematics, field theories and recent research in biophotonics. The works of Guto Nobrega has been presented internationally at conferences and exhibitions such as Arizona College of Fine Arts -Arizona US, ISEA Singapore, University of Quebec in Montreal’s Coeur des Sciences, University of Applied Arts Vienna, Parpalló room – Valencia Spain, Labour – Centre for Art and Industrial Creación, Gijon Spain, Facultad de Ciencias y Comunicación Social Universidad del País Vasco – Bilbao Spain, International Institute Of Biophysics Neuss Germany, Roland Levinsky Building, University of Plymouth UK, UK Plymouth Art Centre, Barbican Theatre Plymouth UK, Cornerhouse – Manchester UK. His texts have been published widely in journals and books. Guto Nobrega is an artist, researcher, Master in Communication, Technology and Aesthetics by ECO-UFRJ (2003) and Bachelor of engraving by EBA-UFRJ (1998) where he teaches and teaches since 1995.
