The Programa Institucional de Bolsas de Doutorado Sanduíche no Exterior (PSDE) (Institutional Programme for Scholarships for Sandwich Doctorates Abroad) is a CAPES intstitutional programme whose aim is to qualify human resources to a high level by awarding a quota of sandwich doctorate scholarships to Brazilian Higher Education Institutions (IES) which have recognised and recommended doctoral courses with a grade of 3 or higher.

Since 2011, the PPGAV has received two scholarship quotas, each one for 12 months of study, which can be used by up to 3 students for a minimum period of 4 months. Detailed instructions on how to apply for the PSDE scholarship are contained in the Programme Regulations on the CAPES page.
